Writers Workshop: Tailored

The Write Stuff
Relax and Study – or Dance in the Sun!
The writers workshops at Les Soeurs Anglaises (www.lessoeursanglaises.com) are the perfect solution for those seeking to discover their creative writing strengths and polish their skills whilst enjoying an exhilarating break in stunning surroundings and comfortable, stylish accommodation in South West France. Delicious home cooked meals using local produce accompanied by carefully chosen wines are just the icing on the cake!
The 2010 programme includes a 'Poetry in Motion' five day workshop led by internationally respected poet Roger McGough (10th to 14th June); ‘Five Senses and a Pen’, a writers lab designed for all levels under the expert guidance of author Lucretia Grindle, (21st to 27th July); a screenwriting course ‘From Script to Screen’ led by Simon van der Borgh, an experienced script writer who comes highly commended by recognised film industry colleagues (8th to 14th September); and successful crime writer Susan Moody who will lead a five day workshop ‘Make Crime Pay’, (23rd to 29th September).
These writers’ workshops are in addition to the highly successful textile and dance workshops which the delightful Katie Elliott Armitage (whose wine buff husband selects the wines!) has run for the past two years just outside Riberac in the Dordogne under the Les Soeurs Anglaises banner.
The maison de maître and newly converted barn/studio sit in magnificent, and mature gardens alongside a burbling stream. The glorious house boasts a heated outdoor pool set against the idyllic countryside of the Perigord Vert region of Aquitaine, situated half-way between the bustling towns of Angoulème and Perigueux, not far from the historic villages of Brantome and Aubeterre. With intimate groups of between eight and 16 participants the LSA workshops make ideal, affordable breaks for anyone interested in learning or improving their skills
